X has no button to follow a hashtag. Tapping a hashtag shows you other posts that use it (X Help). To keep up with one, you can save the search in the Android app, follow a related Topic, bookmark the search in your browser, or track it in an X Pro column, which needs Premium+.
To open it later, tap the search box and look under Saved. To remove it, tap the X next to it (X Help). X says saved searches aren’t available on x.com, and its help page gives steps for Android only.
Following a Topic shows you more posts, events and ads about it. Tap Follow when X suggests a Topic in your Home timeline, or pick one from the Topics menu. A Topic is broader than one exact hashtag, and anyone who can see your full profile can see the Topics you follow (X Help).
On x.com, search for the hashtag and switch to the Latest results (X Help). Then bookmark that page in your browser. It isn’t an X feature. It’s a browser shortcut you open when you want to check.
X Pro, the tool that used to be TweetDeck, shows several timelines side by side that refresh in real time. Add a search column for your hashtag and new posts appear as they come in. X Pro is only included in Premium+, which costs $40 a month in the US (X Help). Until March 26, 2026 it was also part of the $8 Premium plan (MacRumors).
X’s help pages don’t mention notifications for saved searches, so plan to open the search yourself.
X’s help page only gives steps for Android. If you don’t see Save in the search menu on iPhone, bookmark the search on x.com instead.
No. TweetDeck is now X Pro, and X Pro is part of Premium+.
