Lead with the useful detail
For a tutorial, say what the reader will learn before the backstory. For a product post, name the problem it solves. A clear first sentence helps even when you do not shorten the rest.
Check the whole draft
Paste the caption exactly as you intend to publish it, including emojis, hashtags, and blank lines. This tool counts Unicode characters in the browser; an emoji may display as one symbol while containing more than one code point.
Use hashtags deliberately
The hashtag total is an editing prompt, not a recommended quota. Remove duplicate or unrelated tags and keep the caption understandable without them.
