Fill the frame
Fill enlarges the image until the frame is covered and crops from the center. Use it when the subject has space around it. If a face, product label, or caption sits near an edge, inspect the preview closely.
Keep the whole image
Fit scales the full photo into the selected frame and adds white space where the shapes differ. This is often better for artwork, screenshots, or images with text that cannot be cropped.
Check the saved file
The tool exports a PNG from the browser. Open it once before uploading to confirm the framing and text remain clear; Instagram may compress or recrop what you publish.
